Munchen Hauptbanhof...baggage storage??

I really did try to find this out on my own but couldn't find any information regarding day baggage storage in Munich Train station. RS book does say lockers are available but does anyone know if these lockers are big enough for medium sized luggage?

For larger sized luggage (God help you), there is also a check room (Gepäckaufbewahrung) in the Munich station, right behind the lockers. "There is no change machine in the locker area." Or anywhere else in the area, as far as I know. That is a problem in Germany. You should always keep a supply of coins with you, for lockers, bathrooms, etc. €1 and €2 coins are not much bigger than our quarters, so it's not a problem. It's not so much of a problem now, because I understand the coins better, but at first, since I was unfamiliar with the coins, and the bills had numbers on them, I would tend to pay with bills and accumulate a lot of coins.

Define "medium sized luggage". I had no problem fitting an RS non-wheeled convertible bag in one at the Munich Hbf. In fact, as I remember, my wife and I put both of our bags in one of the smaller lockers. Here, www.germantravel-info.com/graphics/lockers.jpg, is a picture of the lockers at Fuessen. I believe they are a standard size in all stations. (sorry you have to cut n paste, but the website is not accepting links at this time)

The sizes of the lockers at Munich Hauptbahnhof are: small: 28 cm x 42 cm x 76 cm big: 47 cm x 61 cm x 91 cm
ski: 32 cm x 230 cm x 54 cm

Hi Joanne, The coin lockers at München Hauptbahnhof include large lockers, which I sure will accomodate your baggage. They cost 5 Euro to operate and are pretty big, not only in length and width but also in depth. There is no change machine in the locker area.

All went well in Munich trainstation. Had no problem finding the lockers and actually were able to fit in 4 smallish wheelie suitcases and two RS messenger style packpacks....but it was full!!! I think my husband and daughter were determined to save the extra 5 euros for a beer. Our day and half in Munich wasn't enough time but were able to eat and drink at the Hofbrahause; tour to Dachau and a stroll thru the Marianplatz. We only got lost once!!! Again, thank you.
