Multiple trips to multiple countries

Arriving Saturday noon in Munich. Taking the train to Nuremberg for 3 days. That part is easy.

From there we are heading to Prague. From What I've found, the bus is the way to go. Any other suggestions? Tickets at the bahnhof?

Then we are going from Prague to Vienna. Train or bus best?

I spent 9 years in Germany with the Army and feel fairly comfortable in Germany and Austria. Czech doesn't scare me, but I know nothing about transportation there. I haven't been there since the wall came down and it was still Czechoslovakia.

Rome2Rio.com suggests that the bus will be faster on the Nurnberg to Prague leg but that the train (Railjet) is probably a tad faster for Prague-Vienna. You'll need to check individual websites for accurate schedules and prices, though.

We have taken the bus Nuremburg to Prague. I would get tickets ahead on the dbbahn site it was a full bus. The bus stop is right in front of the rail station. No special area just a bus pulls up in front of one of the main entrances.

The bus Nuremberg to Prague is run by Deutsche Bahn. It is a double decker with bathroom on board. There is also beverage and snack service. It is non-stop and takes 3 hours.

Prague to Vienna is better to do by train. Rail jet - very modern and comfortable. It takes four hours. Bus is cheaper and takes slightly longer. Buses are sometimes quite late when they get stuck in traffic jams around Prague, Brno, Vienna and also there is a constant construction going on freeway between Prague and Brno.
