Multi city rail question. First timer going to Europe.

My wife, friend, and I are going to Europe and I am looking for the EASIEST way to start from London and head to Venice, then Florence, then Rome, then Barcelona, then Normandy, and then last stop Paris. This is our plan, and I would like to know where to look at train passes for each of these cities. Those are also the order of which we will be traveling to. All this traveling is in a span of 2 weeks. I can't find ANYTHING helpful on where to start and if I can get from London to Venice. Any help?????

Thank you!

This strikes me as far too many destinations spread out across the continent as widely as possible. Certainly limiting yourself to rail only makes this even less feasible. You could fly via Easyjet from London to Rome, then go north up the Italian peninsula thru Florence to Venice. From there you could take a night train to Paris. I can't see how you could realistically fit either Barcelona or Normandy into a 2 week slot. Plus Normandy will be tough unless you rent a car.
I suggest you consult Rick's book on travel planning "Europe through the Back Door" as well as his "Best of Europe". Look carefully at the sample itineraries there and play with several options. Prioritize...what is it that you want to see the most? Next? Least? You cannot do everything in any single trip, even one much longer than 2 weeks. When are you going? Do you plan to fly into London and home out of Paris? (open jaw).

You referred to train passes for cities...on this same web site, if you look up at the top of the page and click on the link "railpasses", you will find a wealth of information about railpasses. Keep in mind that point-to-point tickets are often better values. For more information than you may want on train travel in Europe, Google "The Man in seat 61"...this will give you the web site of a train travel obsessive who will spell out rail travel possibilities in excruciating detail.
