More Heathrow connection info

I have a two-parter: at the end of April, I arrive in Heathrow on American, scheduled for 6:55AM, and then depart for Barcelona on Brit Air at 9:25AM. I believe the BA flight is in the new Terminal 5, but I do not know where the AA flight lands. Will I have enough time to make the connection?

My second question: My return, on Brit Air from Venice, lands in the evening at Gatwick, and my connection home the next day is from Heathrow. I have a hotel reservation at Heathrow. What is the easiest and least expensive way to get from Gatwick to Heathrow on a weekday evening?

Your AA flight lands at one of the other terminals; whichever it is, there will be a shuttle to T5 for BA. Since you are going on to Barcelona, you should not have to go thru passport control at Heathrow (the major time-consumer at LHR), so it seems that you have plenty of time to make your connection.
National Express buses connect the airports around London. Go to their website. Your Heathrow hotel can probably provide you with the info regarding the best way to get there. A "Heathrow hotel" may still be some distance from the terminals; a shuttle may be involved. The Heathrow hotel where I stay runs a free shuttle from their location outside the airport directly to the LHR terminals.
