I can’t imagine why anyone would put a laptop in checked luggage.

Good, I hope they do ban laptops in checked luggage. I have had situations where my laptop was in my carry on bag but was told I had to check it. My personal bag is too small to carry my laptop.

You won't be allowed to carry on a too large personal bag just because it has a laptop. You will be told to take the laptop out and just carry it on in your hands

At least it will not be in checked baggage which I never would desire.

I can't even imagine putting a laptop in checked luggage; why would anyone risk damaging it? That said, it seems like the right move given how explosive their batteries are.
