Just saw a Globetrekker on Venice...Mention was made of a monthly pass for all vaporetto travel including Murano, Burano and everything else. Saves money if you arrive at first part of the month, even if you only stay a week or so..actually cheaper than a week or 2 week pass...anyone used it with success? Thanks,
M
I read something that said the monthly pass was only available for residents of the area in and around Venice. Perhaps my memory is wrong. You might want to do a Google search and see if you can get clarification.
Thanks for your response. I'm staying with residents of Venice so maybe they can get me one if the Globetrekker was in error. Will check that website and let everyone know...really a good deal if it works.

ACTV is the company that runs the local land buses and vaporetto water buses in Venice. CLICK HERE to see all of the pass and card possibilities. Looking down the page, I see information on monthly cards but you may have to be a resident or long-term visitor (and be able to prove it with documentation) to get the monthly card. Your resident friends may be able to get you one. In Venice, you don't show tickets or passes as you get on or off the vaporettos. They do spot check, however, to keep everyone honest. I'm betting that if you flash the monthly card you'll be fine. They just want to see valid passes or cards.
The vaporettos do go to Murano and Burano as well as Lido and Giudecca islands.
Thanks for the link Elk Grove...I think I can buy a monthly for one area Lagoon Service for 28 Euros which includes the Lido as well. ...below that rate there was one for residents who only pay 14. There is a 72 hr. pass for 31 Euros...so the monthly would make more sense if you are gonna be on the water quite a bit...and again it only works to your advantage if you arrive early in the month.
That link is very helpful...others take note it's a good link...
Thanks again Elk Grove
Peace,
Mary
