I've searched on the site and looked at the italian rail website and am still unclear on a couple of items. We are going from LaSpezia to Rome. The ticket price for 2nd class is about 36 Euros. How can I tell if the MINI ticket price is available. I tried putting in the route on the rail site and it showed the same fare as above and in the discount box, MINI wasn't available. Thank you

If the mini fare is not available it is not available. The mini fares are limited and can be sold out. Without your dates of travel cannot double check your homework. Mini fares are not available on regional trains. Is that a regional train route you are looking at?

Thanks for the response. Actually I found a great website roninrome.com that has detailed information on the italian train site. I didn't go far enough into the website. You the time you want and click further and that is where it displays the different discounts available. Cindy

I seem to remember reading somewhere that buying the Mini ticket online was great but some conductors were reluctant to accept the emailed receipt showing you had bought the ticket. Anyone know anything about this?
