What is the best way to travel from MXP Milan Airport to Lake Como/Varenna Esino-Perledo Station.
Even private transportation from the airport to Varenna? Arriving a day early of tour start date

This is the public transport way to get there:
Take the Malpensa Express train from the airport to Milan Centrale.

From Milan Centrale take the train to Varenna Esino.

Janet, if you take the train from the airport, make sure you go to Milano Centrale, not Milano Cadorna or get off at Milano Garibaldi.
But you will get "how to get there" info with your tour signup package.

If you want a nice tool to use in the future google Rome to Rio.com. And it will show you multiple ways to get to your destination. I use it frequently when planning trips.

But just use Rome to Rio for a bird’s eye view of the transport possibilities. You then have to link to the actual websites of the various companies (rail or bus or whatever) to find true schedules and tickets.

Just make sure you don't use the last train of the day, as trains can get canceled; if it's a Friday evening, the train can be standing room only, but it is only an hour from Milan Central. Try to sit on the left side of the train for the best lake view. What a great trip you'll have!

Hello Janet,
My wife and I did this trip a couple of years back...wonderful!
We’ve now done several RS Tours and found for us arrival after a sometimes LONG trip can be stressful and more. Our solution, and what we did getting to Varenna , was to ask our Hotel if they had an arrangement for shuttle service...they did and we felt it was the right thing for us. A little bit of an expenses but totally stress free. And we got to relax and enjoy the scenery while listening to our well informed and courteous driver get us to the Hotel.

Hello Janet, as you mentioned that you can also consider private transportation, then I suggest you to check www.limos4.com/milan Last summer we booked a mini van as our group consisted of 7 people and they provided us a great service. Hope this helps. Enjoy in beautiful Lake Como!
