Milano MXP Airport: URGENT HELP

I posted this in the boot as well...

I am arriving to Milano from Firenze at 12:05am. We have a flight from MXP at 7:00 am but have been advised by almost everyone to check in at 5:15 and expect a line. How do you get to MXP from the train station? I know its possibly by subway, but don't know the route.

All help is appreciated.

You have two choices (not including taxi) of getting to the station. You may take the shuttle from the central station. According to the website first one leaves at 4:15 and takes a little less than an hour. Or you can take the metro from the central station to the Cadorna stop and take the train to the airport. It's also a little less than an hour but I don't think the first train to Malpensa leaves until 6:00. Hope this helps.

Hi JB,
It looks like the Malpensa Shuttle (bus) that leaves the Central Train station at 4.15 and arrives at Malpensa at 5.05 might be your best option.

It's not clear to me whether or not the trains run late enough for you to catch one when you arrive or early enough in the morning--here's what I found on one website: "The "Malpensa Express" train service runs every half hour from/to Cadorna station between 6:50am and 8:20pm. It's a 40 minute ride and costs E. 9,30."

There are two terminals at MXP that a quite a ways apart. Be sure you know which one you are departing from.

thanks for the tips!

We are trying to see if there is anyway to leave earlier (we are students taking finals) and if that's the case we can arrive in Milano Centrale hopefully by 10pm on the 19:14 train which arrives at 22:00 into Milano Centrale.

I'm assuming we take the subway to Milano Nord???

Hi JB,
I didn't realize it but from what I've read the Cadorna train station is also called "Ferrovie Nord Milano, local railway."

Something to think about--the Malpensa Shuttle bus is only about 6-7 Euro and might be less hassle than taking the train to Malpensa.

Good luck with your finals and have a safe trip!
