we are arriving in milan and would like to take a train direct to either pisa or lucca with no stops, and then rent a car at either destination. any suggestions
Almost all trains from Milan to Pisa will have you change trains in Florence. The train from Milan to Florence is a high-speed but it does make a stop at Bologna. When you change trains at Florence, you will most likely be on a Regionale train to either Pisa or Lucca that makes several stops along the way. There are a few direct trains during the day to Pisa from Milan but they take about 2hrs longer and they definitely are not non-stops.
Larry is accurate. Those are small towns. Non-stop trains to anywhere are very rare and non-existent if any distance is involved. If you really meant train changes, again that is difficult for the small locations like Pisa and Lucca.
Thanks, I did mean minimal stops from Milan to Pisa/luffa. We are now considering flying to London with connector to Pisa, possibly flying easy jet. Any one used easy jet?
