Are there car rentals at both Malpensa Airport and Milano Centrale? Which would be the best place to rent a car and then travel to Cinque Terre?
There is only a shuttle bus connection between Centrale and the airport -- 45 minutes to an hour. Have been through Centrale several times and do not remember any car rentals BUT we were not looking either. I would think that the airport rental would be best simply because you would be out of the Milan traffic.

I have flown to Malpensa, then shuttled to Milano Centrale. It is really busy at this train station.
The airport is rather small and I would prefer to avoid the train station, if I could. Rent your car at the airport for sure!
