how long is the travel time from Milan to Zurich by train? is there any direct train? and how much is the fare? or is it better to Fly? thanks! :)

Check schedules at the Swiss Rail site rail.ch There are direct trains every two hours or so starting at 7:10am. Journey time is 3 hours 40 minutes, so it's faster to take the train.

The standard 2nd class fare for direct EC trains from Milano to Zuerich is €67.40. If you book well in advance (up to 120 days allowed) on the Trenitalia site, you can get a Smart fare as low as €19.00. While you don't have to register on the site to book tickets, things go more smoothly if you do.

If you book the very inexpensive fare, you will probably be tied to a particular departure date/time/train number and seat reservation. Flying would take as long or longer, due to security checks, travel to/from airports at both ends, and flight time. Take the train, the scenery for most of the trip is stunning.
