Hi,
I was trying to book train tickets with Trenitalia today from Milan to Venice leaving Sept.29, but find that all morning departures are sold out, (both 1st & 2nd class). What are my other options? Appreciate all your suggestions. Thanks! Mary

Hi Mary, I just went to www.trenitalia.com and put in Sept 29 from 7:00 and from Milano Centrale to Venezia S Lucia there are at least 10 trains with plenty of seats available before about noon. The high speed trains usually go up in price closer to your date of travel and can sell out. Purchase the high speed trains with your credit card after you first notify the CC company of a foreign purchase and then just show the train conductor your PNR# when they check tickets. The regional trains are much less expensive though they take a little longer. The regional trains never sell out and the tickets can be bought at the station on your day of travel.

Impossible. 2nd class rarely sells out unless the is a football game in town. And I think it is safe to say first class never sells,out. Just checked lots,of trains with lots of seats. What web site are you using?

Hi Ruby, You were right. The search button showed sold out but by clicking advanced search, I was able to find and book 2nd class seats leaving at 9:35am. Thanks for your help! Mary
