We will arrive in Milan at 8:30 am coming from the USA. We will be a group 8 two of which are in their late 80's. Our cruise leaves from Savona the next afternoon at 5pm. I am wondering what would be the best way to reach the port of Savona and at what time. I want to make it the most pleasant for all. Looking forward to hearing from you fellow travelers!

Hi Mel. There are pleasant, direct trains from Milan (Centrale station) to Savona several times a day that take 2+ hours. For instance, leave Milan 9:10am, arrive Savona 11:26am. Or 11:10 am, arrive Savona 1:26 pm. You could spend the day of arrival seeing Milan, then train to Savona the next day, leaving plenty of time to get to ship. Buy the train tix when you get there; they are only 19 euro (or 25 euro for first class). For schedules, see trenitalia.com. Enjoy your trip!
