We plan to buy a 5-Day 3-country pass (Italy/France/Benelux) and use it to go from Milan to Lyon. How can I be sure the train won't go thru Switzerland which would mean an extra country or price?
Bea, check out the Artesia train that runs from Milan to Paris. The routing goes to Torino and then west into France. I don't think that these trains go through any part of Switzerland.
Thanks, Larry....will look for it.
Thanx for all the good info. We figured since passes dropped in price a bit due to the euro, for about $60 each trip first class, it might be worth it. We'll do p2p up to Bologna/Milano, then the Lyon segment, tgv to Paris and Thalys to A'dam. Last year our 2nd cl Thalys ticket cost about $75 one way.
