many posts here about using daytrip.com to get an estimate for you to decide. keep the address of accomodation with you.
how many people, # of bags, budget in euros and if cash only, any extra stops like ATM/grocery store, nighttime fee
do your own research for taxis at MXP to riva del garda (search bar at top of page, travel forums, dates (6 months or one year). the ride will probably be about 3 hours, may have an extra charge since that taxi needs to come back to milan.
will you need to book a return trip and if so a discount? lots to deal with and ask, get all in writing and an email for your own protection. good luck & have fun

That's likely going to be an expensive trip! Are you planning to go there as a day trip, or will you be staying in Riva for a few days? Travel via train and bus will be far less expensive, although that will take 3-4 hours.

Train to Rovereto, then bus or taxi, seems to be the recommended route. 3.5 hrs.
