Milan logistics

8:50 AM arrival at Malpensa airport; plan on seeing "The Last Supper" and leaving on train from Milan Central station at 6 pm for Levanto. Question: luggage storage. I'm sure the train station has storage. Wondering about storage at Convent Grazie (site of Last Supper?? Rather doubt it. How far is train station from Convent? Best way to get from Malpensa to train station? And from train station to Convent Grazie and time needed for travel?

Linda: This is not too difficult logistically. Trenitalia started service from Malpensa to Centrale a few months ago. It runs a couple of times per hour (0943, 1022, 1043, etc.) and takes about 45-52 minutes, costs 7 euros. I understand there is a left luggage desk/area at Centrale. Found this info online. Maybe someone else that has used it can verify. Milan central train station left luggage facilities operate out of an office on the ground floor of the station. The office is located in the indoor hallway on the piazza Luigi di Savoia side of Milano Centrale train station. The cost for left luggage at the Milan train station is a flat 4 euros per item for the first 5 hours or part thereof. After the first 5 hours, left luggage costs 0.60 euros / hour for up to 12 hours, and 0.20 euros / hour for each additional hour beyond 12 hours. Once you have stored your luggage, take an Metro to the Duomo. Depending on your Last Supper reservation time, you may sightsee downtown. When you are ready to go to Santa Maria della Grazie, take the Metro to Cadorna Station (a couple of stops, very quick). From there you walk about 12-15 minutes to Santa Maria della Grazie. Use Google Maps to plot a walking course. Or you can take a cab.
