A few times when I have looked up the train schedule (on both bahn.de and trenitalia), it is showing that only one train leaves on Saturday September 21 from milan to bolzano (around noon). Does anyone know if this is this a mistake or is that true? If so, should I make sure to reserve it in advance?
It is not a mistake but the schedules for September are still being loaded onto the website. Right now Bahn.de is showing 5 trains that Saturday during the day. When the schedule is complete, it will look more like the one for today or next Saturday,,with 1 or 2 trains each hour. You will change trains in Verona.
Looks like the Italians are dragging their feet on loading the fast trains into the schedule. If you look at June 22, there are trains every half hour from Milan to Verona. They are mostly regional trains from Verona to Bolzano, and they are not showing up either. The only thing showing in September are Eurocity trains.
So there will be lots of trains, but they are for sale now. I know you want to get the best price as it is now 4 months away, but looks like you'll have to wait until they get their scheduling in order.
Thank you! That makes sense. Would you recommend booking in advance, as soon as they become available?
