i am a little confused about the easiest & quickest way to get to bellagio from mxp.
some say to take the bus to the central train station and then take the train to varenna (then ferry to bellagio) while others are saying there is a train that leaves directly from the airport to como (with a connection in saronno).
any help on which would be better would be much appreciated!!
The Malpensa Express, www.malpensaexpress.it, runs from Malpensa airport via Saronno to Milan's Cadorna station. It is a private rail line, not run by Italian Rail. Last time I looked, Trenitalia didn't show it on their schedules.
There is also a branch which goes from Saronno to Como Lago, but I have never found much information about it. All the information seems to focus on the line into Milan. It looks like the Express goes directly into Como Lago, ending at the water, whereas the main Italian Rail line stops at a station on the west edge of towns and then goes on to the north. If you are going on by train from Como Lago, you might have to find transportation between the two stations.
