We are arriving from the US in Nov. Is it easy to take the Metro from the airport to our hotel in 9 Arr. - Intercontinental? Worried about the pick pockets with our luggage in hand...

If you're packing light, it's not hard; but you would have to make a minimum of one connection. Take the RER B from CDG to Chatelet-Les Halles and the RER A from there to Auber. It's a short walk from there to your hotel. The fare is €9.10. However, in your case the easiest way would be to take the Roissybus non-stop directly from CDG to Opera. The fare is €10.00.
