Method of Payment

I am flying to Paris(CDG) and plan to take a cab to our residence in the Left Bank area. Do cabs accept credit cards for payment?

If you plan to use a card, make sure you ask before you climb in - if you don't, they may be upset. I prefer to use cash that I picked up at an airport ATM. I usually also get some change by purchasing a soda or phone card before leaving the airport. Others here suggest asking for an odd amount from the ATM to get some smaller bills. My normal conversation with a cab driver begins with, "Hello, how much will it cost to get to xxx?" I don't climb in unless it sounds reasonable (especially if there's an alternative). I'll have the cash ready, with a small tip, before we arrive - then count it out as I hand it to the driver and say, "Thank you." Remember, (in France especially but elsewhere in Europe also) failing to begin a conversation/question with simple greeting is considered rude.

Some do, some don't. Don't count on it unless you check with the one you're about to hop into. More than likely the ones at the airport will. Good anwer, huh?
