Meeting someone at CDG Airport

Hi,

I will be in Norway studying next year, and my mother is coming to visit for about 2 weeks. She is flying into Paris (CDG) and I will meet her there, and at the end of 2 weeks, she will leave from Oslo.

I will be flying into Orly Airport the night before she arrives at de Gaulle, and I think it is best if I meet her at the airport in the morning. She has not been to Europe before, and doesn't know a lick of French, so I think she could be a bit shell-shocked on her own.

I have only flown into CDG once, and I am fairly familiar with the RER connection. So, I am wondering if anyone knows a good place to meet her at the airport.. I don't really remember anything about baggage claim, customs, etc., but I am just wondering how easy it would be for us to find each other without phones or any other form of communication.

Any creative ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Geoff

Here is the answer someone left a few weeks ago:

Do not choose the Customs area; there may be more
than one at CDG. Choose either the Air France
reservation counter or the Lufthansa reservation
counter.

When meeting anyone I always choose a site
for which there can be only one. Luftfhansa uses
Terminal 1 and Air France uses Terminal 2. If you're
going to take the RER into Paris.

Then I suggest that you meet at the CDG 1 RER station which is next to Terminal 3. You would need to take the free CDGVAL shuttle train from Terminal 1 to the station.

Ignore the fact that there also is a
RER station at Terminal 2 and take the CDGVAL
from Terminal 2 to the CDG 1 station.

The easiest place to meet would be one of the airline
ticket counters.

If your mother is flying into Terminal 1, you could meet her at the departure point for the free CDGVAL shuttle train which the two of you would then take to the CDG 1 RER station which is next to Terminal 3. If she is flying into Terminal 2, you could meet her at the CDG 2 TGV/RER station--or in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel which directly above the station.
