Meeting point at CDG Airport in Paris

Hey all,

I am a college student from the US who is living in Norway for 6 months. My mom is coming to visit for a couple weeks, and it ended up being most convenient to meet in Paris. I land in the evening, and she lands the next morning. I will be staying in the city and think it is best to meet her at the airport and not risk some catastrophic mixup that only we could manage (!)

I plan to ride the RER to CDG to meet her. Can someone recommend a simple and fool-proof meeting point for us to meet up at? I had thought of trying something like one of the airport check-in counters (an airline such as Aeroflot or Turkish Air, which likely have low presence at CDG, so there's not so much room for error). I have only landed at CDG once, and I don't remember it too well, so if someone has any good ideas, I would really appreciate hearing it!

Thanks,

Geoff

It would help to know at which terminal your mother will arrive. Northwest uses Terminal 2E. Icelandair uses Terminal 1.

Since you will arrive in the evening, you might consider staying in a hotel near the airport. You can get a room at the HotelF1 Roissy Aeroport CDG PN2 for as little as €37. The hotel is part of the Accor chain and offers free shuttle bus service to and from the airport.

she is flying United, which I believe is Terminal 1.

Yes, United uses Terminal 1. I suggest meeting at either La Brioche Doree, a sandwich and pastry shop in the public area, or at the place where you will take the CDGVAL driverless shuttle train from Terminal 1 to the CDG 1 RER station which is next to Terminal 3. Sorry to not address your entire message, but I am arriving at Orly, so I will just stay in the city.
