Help...I will be coming from Nice via Train and my travel companions will be coming from Rome after arriving from the US on an overnight flight. This is the first time for all of us in Italy. Where should we meet? Will it be too difficult to try and connect at the train station in La Spezia or should we meet at our hotel (not yet booked) in CT, or should we meet in Rome at the train station? Our complete itinerary in Italy is Tuscany-7days, CT-2days and Rome-2 days. Thank you for any advice!

Okay, for starters - La Spezia is not a huge train station so that shouldn't be a problem meeting up with people. From there just grab the "milk train" to CT. I really don't see any reason for you to go all the way to Rome to meet up with them since then you will have to backtrack to La Spezia anyway. I hope you have a great time in CT, we have stayed in Manarola 3 times over the years and really loved it. Any of the villages are great and enjoy the walks between them. Enjoy

The station is small enough to find each other. Whenever you all arrive, you can catch the next local train into CT. Hopefully you are patient people, someone is bound to be late. Give each other permission to go get breakfast/lunch while you're waiting for the other rather than staying at the station.

I agree, easy station to find one another, but I would check on the schedules. I got on a wrong train once and ended up in LaSpezia and wanted to go back to CT and I remember sitting there for a number of hours as the trains did not run that often (It was a few years ago, and I have taken this train since, but I was more careful about where I got off)
