A much needed walkway is being constructed to connect with the new International Arrivals hall at Sea Tac. It's long overdue to replace the 40-year-old small international arrivals and customs currently located in the basement of the south satellite. We are happy to hear the walkway is expected to open the fall of 2020! See www.king5.com
Good to hear this, but the link doesn't connect to the story any longer.
Does this mean using a walkway to the main terminal instead of the little train?
@Dick, yes the brief link is gone, but I just googled "new walkway at Sea Tac" and there are more stories about this. It is my understanding that the walkway will replace the "train link" to customs.
That will be a pretty long walkway if it is replacing the train. I would not consider it step ahead but step backward. On the other hand exercise is needed. But we get that exercise by walking to the light rail.
As I understand it, there is a new building for immigration processing being built, which is between the South Satellite ( SS) and the south end of the Main terminal building. Sounds like it will be a walking distance less than what the train covers going from the SS to Main terminal stop.
@Joe, thanks for the update!
