Does anyone know anything about the bus from the Marseilles Airport to Aix? I heard that it is 8 euros. How long does it take? Do you think you can take it from Aix center to the Marseilles airport for an 8:45am flight? If so, how much time should you allow? Your help is appreciated!
Looking at the airport website http://www.marseille-airport.com/access-car-parks/access/by-train-or-by-bus, I see that there is a bus every half hour and it takes 30 minutes (which is what I remember from 2006, when I took it). Assuming your flight is within Europe, you need to be at the airport 60-90 minutes before. So, you need to catch the 6:40 AM or the 7:10 AM bus (those are the departure times for a Thursday; you can input your day to make sure these are running). BTW, the bus station is at the edge of the center; I walked in with my luggage, and it took about 15-20 minutes, so I took a cab back (wise decision, particularly since it was raining).
I've taken this and it's quite fast and comfortable. But as the previous person responded, the Aix bus station is a little way out of the main city centre - take a local bus there.
Thank you so much for your help! I sincerely appreciate knowing this as we book our daughter's flight to study abroad this fall.
