Donna, not sure on the buses but I've shown you a link to the Trenitalia train runs to Mantova from Verona on your other post. I'm not sure exactly which date at the end of the year you wish travel but I see 16 train runs on the Trenitalia website for 12/30. Please stop worrying about trains. They do not shut down. Here's a link to see the first five train runs of the day on 12/30. Press NEXT to see later trains. http://orario.trenitalia.com/b2c/nppPriceTravelSolutions.do?lang=en&stazin=verona&stazout=mantova&datag=30&datam=12&dataa=2011&timsh=04&timsm=00&nreq=5&stazin_r=Staz_DA&stazout_r=Staz_A&datag_r=&datam_r=&dataa_r=&timsh_r=&timsm_r=00&nreq_r=5&npag=1&sort=0&economy=1&det=&solotreno=0&noreservation=0&traintype=&car=0

We always took the the train (only takes 25 minutes) during our long stay in Verona. The Mantua station is conveniently in town, and Mantua is small.
