That was very fun to read ! Thank you for sharing. Especially as it was from a cool Euro magazine I have never heard of ! I would never have run across this on my own.

Golden Girl, what a great article—thanks for posting! I've been enamored of Mark and his website forever! I used to visit his site even when I wasn't traveling and just read the information and dream. And his site has certainly become my go-to whenever I have a question about trains.

Glad you all enjoyed it. I follow him on Bluesky, where he posted a link to this, and I thought it was such an interesting piece. It was fascinating to find out his background and how he got to where he is.
