Here’s a fascinating article I’ve just read about the Man in Seat 61. I don’t think it’s behind a paywall (I was able to access it). He and the writer of the article take a trip on the sleeper train from London to Scotland.
Thanks for the fun read, Golden Girl!

That was very fun to read ! Thank you for sharing. Especially as it was from a cool Euro magazine I have never heard of ! I would never have run across this on my own.
What a great read. I want to go back later today and read again. Thank you for sharing with all of us. I love reading about people who love what they do and didn't choose the expected track after University.
I have been using his web site for many years now, he has great advice on train travel around the world.
Golden Girl, what a great article—thanks for posting! I've been enamored of Mark and his website forever! I used to visit his site even when I wasn't traveling and just read the information and dream. And his site has certainly become my go-to whenever I have a question about trains.
Glad you all enjoyed it. I follow him on Bluesky, where he posted a link to this, and I thought it was such an interesting piece. It was fascinating to find out his background and how he got to where he is.
Thank you Golden Girl. Good article. It reminded to me research June and July's trains.
