Malpensa Airport to Verona

Besides taking the train from the Centrale station in Milan from Malpensa Airport....is there another way to get from the airport to Verona? Thanx, June

Not really. Aside from a rental car, it's the bus from Malpensa to the main Milan train station and a train to Verona.

June,

This is an easy one. Take one of the two Airport Shuttle Buses from Malpensa to Milano Centrale. You can pay the Driver. Check www.malpensashuttle.it/e-default.htm for all the details.

When you arrive at Milano Centrale, be prepared for the chaos! It's a very busy place (it seems more so when you're jet lagged). The (new) Ticket Offices are two floors down, but there are "moving sidewalks" so no stairs are involved.

You could also just use one of the automated ticket machines. Those on the main floor will likely be busy but there are more next to the ticket office. The machines on the main floor accept only credit cards, while those downstairs also accept Euros. The machine are very easy to use but you might want to check the bahn.de website to get some idea on the timing of trains to Verona.

One other note about Milano Centrale. The washrooms are "pay WC's", so it would be helpful to have some small change. I always travel with a small amount of cash, as I'm usually in no mood to be looking for ATM's when I'm jet lagged and hauling a bunch of luggage. Also, especially in Milano Centrale be sure you're wearing a Money Belt!

On arrival at Verona Porta Nuova, I'd suggest a Taxi to your Hotel. It's not a difficult walk to Piazza Bra if you know the way and are well rested, but after a long flight I'll gladly pay for a Cab.

Happy travels!
