Madrid to Granada - Is scenery better on train or bus?

I know that there are 2 trains a day that go from Madrid to Granada - and many more buses. Having read that the scenery was beautiful via train - is it worth the price and trouble - or is the scenary nearly as nice on bus?

I always prefer the view from a train. I'm not sure what "trouble" you are referring to with the train, as it is easy, comfortable, and convenient. As for price, how much is the bus? The train is 27,35 euros if you buy in advance and get the Web fare. Or if you are seniors you can get 25% to 40% off the regular fare, depending which day of the week you go.

Thanks for your reply. "Trouble" was problably the wrong word - more inflexible because of only 2 train times - so it is easier to get bus tickets. But the defining issue is really which is a better scenic trip.

I've only taken the train. Part of the trip is scenic and I imagine the bus has similar scenery. But the view from a bus will have more highway development and more restricted views. A train allows more comfort and ability to move around, but far fewer schedule options. The train I rode was also quite dated and not at all as good as the AVE lines, but maybe they have made upgrades in the past few years.

I think Doug's right, that you'll see more development, etc from bus. The embarrassing thing is that I myself took this bus a few years ago and can't remember at all what the scenery was like! Maybe I snoozed the whole time . . .

Take the train. The scenery on the road route is not great until you get nearer Cordoba. Roger

Thanks all for your input - I have purchased the tickets on line for the train.
