Made a mistake purchasing ticket on bahn.de

We are two adults and have a Bahncard 25 for one adult and not the other. I accidentally purchased a train ticket online and put in that both have the Bahn card. Is there a way to remedy this without buying a second Bahn card? Can we pay the difference when boarding the train? Or will the conductor let us get away with it?

Are you using full fare (std) tickets. They are fully flexible (exchangeable and refundable) and always the same amount. If so, I think you just tell them at the ticket counter and they charge you the extra and give you the new tickets. OTOH, if you bought non-exchangeable, non-refundable Sparpreis tickets, you probably can't remedy it. You might be better off just buying the second Bahn card. But ask when you get there. It looks like the Partner Bahn Card 25 2nd class is €39. If you buy a second Bahn card and don't want it renewing each year, be sure you get the cancellation form.

"They are not full fare. I booked 2nd class." Puzzling. Full Fare tickets are available in either class. But for the most part, savings fare tickets are 2nd class, so I guess that is what you booked. Those tickets state specifically that they are non-transferrable. I don't think you can get new tickets, but you can ask. I think, depending on the cost of those tickets and the cost of new ones, you can either buy new ones or, probably, buy the second (Partner) Bahn card for €39.
