Luggage in UK

Hi..
In August I'm planning to go for UK and Europe trip along with my family. I will be staying in UK for 3 days then I go to France & swiss. I will have 2 big suitcases since I'm on my way for annual vacation. Can some one advise me, whether I can travel thru tube with my big suitcases. I spoke to my hotel staff, they are ready to keep my luggage till I come back from europe trip. Leaving luggage in Airport might cost me around GBP 100/-

Sam - I don't know of any firm rule about luggage size and the tube.

Ultimately you will need to be able to control your bags and you may get some dirty looks if you can't. I would try and be patient to get in a car where you can stack them in a corner and stand with them.

As long as you can conveniently handle your luggage you will be fine. Just curious -- what is the relationship between annual vacation and 2 big suitcases??

Just try to get on at the end or front of a tube train car. There is room at the back for luggage, as it has no seats. As long as you dont travel between 7:30-9:30 am or 4:00-6:00 pm. Its horrendous during those times with No luggage!

I just love Frank's question. Annual or not, there is no need to have two large suitcases. We've been traveling for 40 years and we often spend about 3 weeks abroad. We've never had a need to have more than one 24" roller suitcase for check-in and one small bag for carry-on.

Keep in mind that many of the tube stations have some stairs. As long as you can manage carrying the suitcase on the platform and up some stairs, it can be done.
