Luggage carts on CDGVAL shuttle between terminals in Paris?

I'm traveling to Paris this week, and will have three suitcases as well as carryon (Xmas presents and such...).

I need to transfer between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. There is a train shuttle between the two terminals. Can you take luggage carts on these trains? Or is there any other way of getting all my luggage from one Terminal to the other?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Lance,

To be honest, 1 person and 4 pieces of luggage sound like a travelling nightmare! If everything is a must-take and you cannot consolidate to even TOPS 2 checked bags and a carry on, perhaps you should consider shipping your bags to the doorstep of your accommodation in Paris if staying with family, or there are companies whose services ship to your flight's airport, and you pick up your luggage there, in your case CDG, or to your hotel
Also, consider the probability of luggage being lost by your airline.
I would have you consider shipping 2 of the suitcases, all 3 might be a little pricey, and then check one containing the least important things and of course all the MUST haves in your carry-on.

From personal experience, I would not recommend using a U.S. based postal service, because it's harder to track once in a European country. I have only had good business with DHL, and there are DHL locations in Europe as well.

Here is a link discussing different luggage shipping services.

If you're still convinced you can rustle together 4 bags on your own, I do not know if there are luggage carts between terminals, but there are at International Arrivals.

Lance, is there a reason that you cannot check your luggage all the way through to your final destination?

Hi there,

Thanks for your replies, but neither of them address my question.

No, I do not want to spend $100s of dollars to ship luggage that I can take for free on the plane (I get 3 checked bags free as an elite frequent flyer). And these are things my family in France has asked me to bring them since things in the US are cheap for them due to the strong Euro. On the way home, I will only have one checked bag.

And I need to transfer from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 to get the TGV train, there is no way to check luggage through from plane to train.

I would appreciate anyone answering who actually knows the answer to my question, rather than questioning my need to do so.

Thanks

Lance,

I don't have a definite suggestion for you, but a few thoughts.....

You might check the website www.parisbytrain.com as there's lots of great information there on how to navigate CDG easily.

As you're arriving at Terminal 1, another thought might be to arrange one of the Shuttles to meet you there, so you wouldn't have to travel between terminals. There are listings for shuttle services in both the France and Paris Guidebooks and if you do a Google search for "Paris Airport Shuttles", you'll get LOTS of suggestions.

Good luck and happy travels!

Again, I'm not taking a shuttle to Paris. I'm getting on the TGV to go elsewhere in France.
