As others have said, Lufthansa sucks for trying to upload documents ahead of time for checking. App doesn't work, on my laptop doesn't work, using the link in the email they sent me doesn't work. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
We took flights with Lufthansa in April and just showed them our CDC card and any required test results when we came to the check-in counter. Most of the people in the terminal were doing the same.
Elle - right, but I wanted to make sure we don't need a test. Looking at requirements on the Sherpa website we shouldn't need one, but I'm paranoid and want them to directly tell me I don't need one.
We flew home on Lufthansa on 6/1, and I couldn’t get the app to work either. Wouldn’t accept my vax card, since it had no bar code - go figure.
What makes you think you don’t require a test? Of course you need to show a negative test result (or have a letter of recovery). We ended up going to the terminal at CDG in Paris to show all our documents and get checked in the day before our flight.
Be sure to arrive with time to spare at the gate as well - they were doing some kind of pre-check stamping of boarding passes. No stamp and you couldn’t board.
Maybe the OP is flying to Germany and not to the U.S. at this point ?
I just flew on Lufthansa this past Monday. At checkin they didn’t even ask for my vax card. Just my passport. I flew through Munich to Zagreb.
We flew on Lufthansa on 5/20--Seattle to Frankfurt to Innsbruck and returned on 6/1--Verona to Frankfurt to Seattle. I uploaded my documents to the app successfully. For the 5/20 trip I used my laptop and it was relatively--note relatively--easy. For the return trip it was grueling. I probably spent 1 1/2 hours trying to upload the documents before I was successful.
And then this is what happened: Because we had a piece of luggage to check, we still had to go to the counter and they wanted to see our vaccination card. For the return trip, in addition to uploading the vaccination card and the COVID test with the negative result, we still had to show the negative COVID result when again checking our luggage in Verona--and again going through passport control in Frankfurt, and again before boarding the plane. It was nice knowing ahead of time that we were approved but given the number of times we had to show our negative results, you might now want to work very hard to upload it.
Yes Kim, I am traveling to Germany.
