Hi. Will be flying to Munich (then later joining R. Steves tour to Slovenia/Croatia). I am puzzled by the this "mean non specified" on the LH website. Flight leaves EWR shortly after 8 pm. I assume this will be some kind of dinner (then Bkfast before landing). Or am I wrong?
Thanks, Dick.
Thanks for this information. We will be flying Lufthansa for the first time this year. Our flight from FRA - SFO departs at 10:20 a.m. and is 11:25 in duration. It says we will get lunch. I guess we can bring food to snack on too. This is our first non-stop flight.
I've flown from the US to Munich three times, on Lufthansa, United, and USAir. The food on Lufthansa was definitely the best (plus wine was complementary). I remember breakfast wasn't too bad. When I flew on USAir, breakfast was a greasy donut and bad coffee. I made a note in my journal at the time, "never fly USAir again". As soon as I got off the plane, I bought breakfast at the terminal. It was better than on the plane.
Thanks for the helpful information. I know economy class food is terrible these days, but it's good to know something will be served!
I believe "meal non specified" means that you have not picked a special type of meal such as vegetarian, kosher, etc. You will get the standard meal. I have flown Lufthansa multiple times and I remember having the choice to pick a specific type of meal (you have to log in t your account or search for your reservation and make the meal choice).
I agree that un-specified means you haven't selected any specialty meals, that's all. In my limited int'l travelling thus far I must say Air France had the best food, with Lufthansa next and United wasn't all that bad, either.
ah hah! Now I totally "get" what unspecified means! Thanks so much everyone. Think it's worth getting a special meal? Any nicer than the usual economy?
