We have to get from Lucerne to Lenno area of Lake Como.
I wanted to go through Lugano and had thought the William Tell experience (steamboat and then train through Alps to Lugano) sounded great till I saw it was 5.5 hours total. We still need to get to Lenno for an overnight -- is there an alternative anyone can recommend? Husband and i are traveling with our two teenage sons... they are great travelers but we have almost no European travel experience :)
It is a long journey but an enjoyable one. We did a similiar but Lucerne via swiss railtrain to Lugano via local bus to Menaggio. Less costly than Will Tell but still a long trip.
Again interesting.
Thanks for your reply. We are coming in the night before from our flight from California so just wondering if this 2nd travel day will be too much. It kind of sounds like it's leisurely for the most part?
