What is the cheapest and best public transportation from Marco Polo airport to the new cruise port in Venice for people with a normal amount of luggage (ie one carry on and one checked each)? Online research has been confusing contradictory and expensive. Thanks a bunch!
Hi, Nancy. I think the best place to research this question is on the cruisecritic forum. That said, I believe the cheapest way to get from Marco Polo to the cruise terminal is by vaparetto (the public water "bus") but it might take you awhile. My husband took it from the airport to our B&B on Lido. We all took it from Lido to the cruise terminal. That leads me to believe it can be done. I like the website veniceforvisitors. They have a lot of detailed information about travel options, etc.
Use the Alilaguna boat. Blue line runs to the cruise terminal. 15 Euro plus 3 Euro for extra luggage. http://www.alilaguna.it/en/tickets1/fares
