London undergroud pass vs. Oyster Card

We plan to spend four days in London in August. As our hotel is near Golders Green we seem to be in the Tube's Zone 3. Therefore, I'm wondering if we wouldn't be better off buying Oyster cards rather than the four-day tube pass. Any thoughts?

Yes, Golders Green is in zone 3. There are no four-day travelcards. You can buy travelcards for either one day or seven days. This page lists all your single ticket, Oyster card, and travelcard choices and prices. National Rail has some very good 2for1 offers. To take advantage of them you will need to buy paper travelcards with the National Rail logo on them at a National Rail station, not a Tube station. To see a list of offers and to print vouchers for the ones that interest you, go here. Buy one-day, zone 1-3 National Rail travelcards for each day you will use a 2for1 offer. Buy Oyster cards, load them with some pay-as-you-go pounds, and use them on all other days.
