My wife and I have decided to travel from London to Paris by train (Eurostar?)early March 2012. Spend 3 nights in Paris and then catch a high speed train to Zurich where we will stay with friends just outside of Zurich for 12 nights. My question, is there a way to buy one ticket that will cover the London to Paris, Paris central transport for 3 days, Paris to Zurich and a 4 day Swiss Pass all thrown in. I hope this makes sense
It does. And the short answer is NO. You could buy a rail pass for some of the trip but it would not be cost effective. Just buy the segments as you need them.
There are no such ticket/pass. You are trying to bundle so many things together. You gotta buy: - Eurostar London-Paris ticket - 3-day pass for ARTP in Paris - Paris-Zürich ticket
- Swiss pass
The earlier you buy that Eurostar ticket from London to Paris, the better price you will get. And for Paris to Zurich, there may be advance purchase deals on the Swiss or French rail sites (rail.ch and TGV-europa). Compare those and see what is available. If there are no deals, you can buy a ticket that includes the Swiss pass coverage from the Swiss border to Zürich. You may want something like a 3-day Flex pass to use at will over the 12 days in Switzerland, instead of a 4-day pass which is consecutive days. The 3-day Flex functions as a half-fare card between the first and last day of use, so it covers more than just the 3 days.
