we are planning a night visit to london taking the chunnel over from a 3 night stay in paris. Havbing trouble finding hotel in London ( olympics?) Does anyone have ideas on what part of town we should stay for 3 days..and anb idea on a hotel?
You might check out the Premier Inn-Kings Cross. When you take the channel train into London, you arrive at the St. Pancras station. St. Pancras is next to the Kings Cross metro station. The Premier Inn is alongside the Kings Cross metro station complex. It's two blocks from St. Pancras. We've stayed there and its quite nice. Here's a link. http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/KINPTI/london-kings-cross-st-pancras For a great place to visit, the British Library is on the opposite side of the St. Pancras train station on Euston Road. Good luck
You don't mention a budget. As far as what part of town you should stay I'm going out on a limb and presume this is your first visit to London. With that in mind I would suggest staying in Mayfair, Kensington, S Kensington, Earls Court, Bloomsbury or the Marylebone neighborhoods. All are easily accessible by tube and bus. Here's Frommers description of neighborhoods.

You might check out the Cherry Court Hotel near Victoria Station. I've had good luck there.Good rates, central location.
