Howdy,
Gatwick or Heathrow, which is best airport for arriving from USA?
thanks
I much prefer Gatwick. The size is much more "navigatable" and we have never had much of a wait at immigration/passport control. We fly out of Charlotte NC and usually arrive about 7:30/8:00am. Just before it gets REALLY busy.
Gatwick would be my choice too. Smaller, better managed, easy to get to. We did a multi-destination trip into Paris then out of London. If your staying on the southside of London you can take the Gatwick Express out of Victoria Station. Very quick, easy airport connection.
thank you!
Douglas, this topic was discussed earlier on this site:

The consensus was Gatwick, all things being equal and I'm there too.
I also agree - Gatwick! It's a smaller airport (single runway, I believe?) than Heathrow, and much easier to get around. The Gatwick Express to Victoria station is only about 30 minutes.
I'll be there in about eight days, so hopefully my opinion will still be the same after this trip.
Cheers!
