London-Amsterdam-Germany-Prague...in 10 days in June2017

Could you please help us understand the best way to go from London TO Amsterdam TO ?Berlin or another city in Germany TO Prague?
Should we buy a train pass, if so what is the name of the train(s)?
For hotels, which neighborhoods in each city should we consider...We are novice travelers so we just want something convenient (close to the train and tourist sights)
We are so lost...Appreciate your guidance very nice!

Go to the trustworthy Man in Seat 61 for information about the train from London to Amsterdam, which will be a combination of Eurostar and Thalys.
For the legs Amsterdam to Berlin and Berlin to Prague you must go to the website of the Deutsche Bahn. Depending on the date those tickets can be as cheap as EUR 39 and EUR 29 when bought in advance. Payment is by credit card and you get the tickets as an emailed pdf.
Booking.com is a good source for hotels.

I can't comment on your train question, but I will say 5 cities in 10 days is probably too much. Every other day will be a long travel day and you'll have 1 day in a city to see it. Two nights in one location means 1 full day to sightsee.

Do you already have airline tickets in to London and out of Prague? If so, then I might cut back to London, Berlin and Prague or London, Amsterdam and Prague.

In reality, if I had 10 days I would divide them between London and Amsterdam 6/4, but of course your choices might be different from mine.

If all you have is ten days, and you are trying to see London, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Prague - most of your time will be spent in transit, and you will see very little besides the insides of trains. You're trying to do far too much - no wonder you're feeling lost.

So, first, how many nights in Europe do you actually have? What cities are you flying into and out of (or, have you not yet purchased flights)? How many is "we"? What are your ages and interests? Etc, etc. More information will yield better answers.

For basic information like where to stay, what to see, how to get around, etc, a guidebook is better than this forum; as someone else here is fond of saying, that's like trying to take a sip from a firehose. So, once you decide where you want to go, get some guidebooks out of your library - Rick's are definitely the best for novice travelers.

The travel times are not too bad: 6 hrs from Amsterdam to Berlin; 4.5 from Berlin to Prague. And I understand London is not a part of this trip.

Thank you for your help!
My sister and I will be landing in London. We have 9 nights in Europe and we HAVEN'T purchase the return flight yet. Thus, we are flexible as to where we should go. Our goals for this trip is to 1)eat good foods and 2) see the world (traditional tourist stuffs)
If you think those 4 cities are too much, feel free make suggestions. we have been to France, Greece and Italy before, but haven't been anywhere else in Europe.
thank you!

So you have purchased one-way tickets to London?

And are the 9 nights separate from your London nights?

Correct, one way ticket to London. We have not purchased the return flight.
We have 10 days/9 nights total in Europe (from the time we arrive in London to the time that we have to return to work :) )
thank you

Hi,THOSE four countries in 9 days is just too much. Two destinations would be more enjoyable but if you want MORE...LOL ....I suggest 2 nights in London, 2 in Amsterdam ( fly) and take the train from Amsterdam to Paris, it is a nice ride ( you can stop in Brussels if you like, but it is boring) fly out of Paris. This is a linear trip and will give you 3 ( 4 if you stop in Brussels) countries that are closer to one another. I have done Amsterdam and Paris is 6 nights. Some say 3 nights in London, but unless you are going to theatre, I would say 2 for a taste and to include more stops on your trip. Have fun, pack light, keep all valuables under your clothing and just a small amount of cash for the day in a hard to pick...pocket...not your purse or backpack. Don't let your passport out of your sight, some hotels like to keep it overnight to copy the info.too bad..make them photo copy it while you wait.

In 9 days two cities is enough. Otherwise you'll be spending time not in the cities but train stations and train. If you have twice as many days you could do London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, Prague.
