Loco2 website for trains

Has anyone purchased tickets on the Loco2 website for train travel? We are using the trains in Spain in October, and the RENFE website is notoriously difficult to navigate...Thanks

No, we haven't. If you can't get through the Renfe site easily and pay with PayPal, then we recommend our link to Rail Europe, which now has the advance-discount fares, or another long-standing US agent, www.petrabax.com.

We used acprail.com based out of Montreal. They only charged a C$2 booking fee. Petrabax had a 20% markup at the time!

I've never used it but Loco2 has been around for a fair while now and I haven't heard of any particular problems.

I've used Loco2 a couple of times, though only for journeys within Britain. It was straightforward to use and there were no fees. They also have Android and iPhone apps. I've downloaded the Android version but haven't yet had cause to use it.

Thank you DavidM. It appears to be very straightforward. I'll post again after I purchase tickets.

I have used loco2 a number of times for trips to and from the UK. It is an easy-to-use site and I have had only one problem, you must fill in the postcode part of the address (though maybe that has been fixed now).

It does not have any price mark-up (unlike some other sites). The big advantage is that it allows add international trips with add-on journeys at both ends, which Eurostar and the train operators do not.
It is a UK site and prices are in £, you may consider this a disadvantage for buying a ticket within Spain.

I used them for Spain last year and France this year with no problems. If you can pay via PayPal, there are no fees; otherwise it is 2.5%, I think. One thing I appreciated was that they sent an email to let me know our scheduled train was affected by a strike last year in Spain. I also like that you can print you tickets at home.

When I was booking my train trips lately, I had a little trouble with Loco2. I booked all 3 through Captain Train without any trouble. And as far as I could tell, there was no mark-up. ( I checked Rail Europe and they were considerably more expensive.)
Happy trails!

I used Loco2 for tickets from Paris-Milan. They were very easy to use and the prices were the same if booked directly on the train website.

I used Loco2 for multiple train bookings within France last year and for my final TGV-Eurostar-GWR journey from France to my destination in Wales; also for a journey within the UK. I found them excellent and very helpful and responsive with all support issues. I loved having all my travel over a 6 week period prepaid, and the fact that all the SCNF tickets could be printed out sequentially by machine at the first station without having to queue at any counter then or subsequently. No charges for paying by UK debit card.

I notice that CapitaineTrain are 'merging with' Traveline (effectively being taken over by Traveline and taking that name). IMV that is not a good development. Far better to use Loco2.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I purchased our train tickets on Loco2, and it worked flawlessly. You can use PayPals which makes it even easier.
