I'll be staying in St Chamas, just north of Marsielles next April/May. I'm intrested in local trains that are scenic... like the Pine Cone Train near Nice. If anyone has any suggestions or hints, I'd appreciate them.

There certainly isn't any steam around there. I hear that the run from Marseilles up through Aix towards Grenoble has some attractive mountain scenery, although it might be a bit of a long trip to do both ways in a day.

True...I figured an overnighter for the Pine Cone one......thanks for confirming what I thought since I have not found any scenic routes on line.
