For the Central Europe tour, what is the best way to depart Ljubljana and what destination would you go to, to return to the states?
You can fly out of Ljubljana to any of the main European transportation hubs, and connect to a USA flight. Which airport in Europe may depend on where in the US you want to fly to. To see your options, just go to Google Flights, and input Ljubljana as the departure airport and your home airport as your destination.
Thank you for that. Would it be better to take a train to say Munich or Vienna for a better view of the countryside vs flying? We would not be in a rush to take a flight out of Ljubljana.
Sure, take tgr train to Budaprst and hang out for a few weeks.
Of course you would have a better view of the countryside if you took a bus or train to either city. The trip would be 5-6+ hrs to Vienna, depending on mode of transport, and 6+ hrs to Munich. Basically, most of a morning and afternoon. And you would need to spend the night in that city before flying out, to avoid any risk of missing the flight.
But after spending 2 weeks on a bus tour, you may have had enough of staring out of a window at the passing countryside. YMMV
We are going to do this tour in 2027 and will take the train from Bled to Vienna for 3 nights then fly home from there
Venice is only 2.5 hours from Ljubljana. Would be a great place to stay for an extra day or two before returning to the U.S.
I fly out of Ljubjana to Warsaw, then back to LA. I’m sure Ljubjana also connects to other major cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam, etc.
