How much time is the minimum needed to arrive at 1125 in CDG from Salt Lake to change terminals (2E to 2D) or make it to Paris Nord for a 1309 train to Dusseldorf, assuming we have no checked bags.
Thanks :)

Mark,

I'm not entirely clear on your question, but if I read it correctly you're asking how much time to allow to get from Paris / CDG to Paris Nord.

Given the fact that there are a number of "variables", I'd suggest allowing at least two hours. Some of the variables - your flight might be late arriving, there may be multiple flights arriving at that time keeping Passport control very busy, etc.

Your easiest route from CDG to Gare du Nord is the RER "B". There's a station in the airport but getting a ticket may be an issue. You'll need one of the new "chip" credit cards to obtain RER tickets from the automated machines. Of course, you can also obtain tickets from the ticket offices at CDG, but when I was there several weeks ago, the queue was so long it just about extended out into the parking lot. That's another variable!

Happy travels!

With an arrival at 11:25 (estimated) AT CDG, there is no way that you are going to make an 13:09 train from Paris Nord. That time span is just over an hour and a half!!!

Your plane could be late, you don't know how long the line will be for Immigration, etc. Then you have to get yourself to Paris Nord a trip of at least 45 minutes.

Also if you have never been to CDG (or Europe)you have to allow some time for disorientation not to mention fuzzy headedness!!!!! I always allow at least 2 hours to get out of the airport (ggod rule at any international airport).

Plan on taking a much later train to Dusseldorf!!!

That's fair, I didn't think of those things. Now how about the time to transfer terminals to 2E to 2D as well? Two hours here as well?

Mark,

Regarding your questions about CDG Terminals 2E & 2D, they're basically quite close to each other. When I was there a few weeks ago, I walked between terminals. You will need to allow at least 20 minutes for that however, as it's not a short distance and you're going to be tired.

You might want to have a look at air-france.bonjourlafrance.net/parischarlesdegaulleairport/images/paris-charles-de-gaulle-airport.jpg and also parisbytrain.com/ for more specific information about navigating around CDG.

Cheers!
