I'll be in Lisbon later this month & I'd like to take the train out to Queluz. It looks like I can catch the train at Rossio Station, but I can't tell if I'll need to purchase a specific round trip ticket at the station or if I'll be able to use the same fare card that I'll be loading money onto for use on the metro. Does anyone know how this works? Thanks!
Interesting question! I think it depends on which card you are talking about. The Lisboa Viva card is valid on the Metro and on services operated by CP (and they operate the urban train you are talking about). The Viva viagem card is (I think) only valid on the metro. In any case, Lisboa Entrecampos to Queluz Belas is only €1.55.
Thanks! I hadn't realized there were two different kinds of cards. That definitely gives me a bit more to go on when I get to the station. :)
Kristina, try this: http://www.metrolisboa.pt/eng/lisboa-viva-card/ Other kinds of card are listed under the 'Customer Info' link at the top of the page, then under 'Information on fares'.
