Linate Airport in Milan

It looks like our AF flight would book into Linate instead of Malpensa. How difficult is it to get from Linate to the train station to get to Florence?

Also Google Flights shows a fare much less than AF site. It lists the flight AF 639 from IAH to CDG (then connect to Milan). When you go to the Air France site, there is no AF 639 . Thoughts?

There’s a direct 30-minute bus from Linate Airport in Milan that drops you off at the central train station; I've done this before. Bus times look frequent too; Malpensa is further away.
If you book the Google flight it will be issued by Air France or an online travel agency. Follow the instructions above.

Linate is on the edge of downtown Milan; Malpensa is out in the countryside close to Lake Maggiore.

We flew into Linate in May. It is a small airport and all the arrival stuff was good. We took a bus to the Central Station which was close to our hotel. We walked out of the terminal, saw buses, paid our 7 euros and climbed aboard. After boarding the bus, we waited for a while for it to fill and leave. Maybe we could have done better going to other buses and checking when they were departing. However, there was a long line for taxis and the prices are high. In our jet lagged state, we were happy to relax in a different kind of seat for while before it finally pulled out. The fare was good and it didn't take that long to get to our hotel.

The buses do drop off OUTSIDE the station. My question would be if you are going to stop a bit in Milan or go directly to Florence. You may feel that coming from Malpensa, transferring from one train to another inside the station works better for you. I don't think you can go wrong either way. If it is a significant price difference, the flight timing is comparable and you're not rushing for another train, Linate would work well.
