Lewes to Gatwick, Gatwick to Heathrow

Need to get from Lewes to Heathrow and avoid trains altogether. I'm currently in Lewes and leaving tomorrow. I'd like to take a cab from Lewes to Gatwick and then from Gatwick to Heathrow. My flight leaves around 4:20.

How much time should I allow for the journey?

Many thanks!

4.20 flight, arrival at Heathrow by 1.20.

So work backwards, and it's not clear why you are changing taxis at Gatwick.
Lewes to Gatwick 33 miles- one hour should give you time to spare;
Gatwick to Heathrow 39 miles- another hour albeit round the M25, add on half an hour for bad luck.

That's 10.30 from Lewes.

If you meant to take the coach from Gatwick to Heathrow use either the Oxford Bus Company the Airline,
or National Express.
1 hour 15 minute journey- the Airline leaves at 1105 and 1205, arriving at 1220 and 1320;
National Express at 1110, 1120, 1205 and 1210. They are scheduled at an hour.

So even then between 10 and 10.30 from Lewes gives you a nice journey, which shouldn't be stressed.

Thank you. Yes, I meant catch the bus at Gatwick.

I hope National Express doesn't require advance tickets because the website isn't cooperating at all. I've entered my credit card info and clicked confirm to pay and nothing happens.

No, with that frequency of service- just buy NatEx at the ticket counter.

The coaches all call at both Gatwick South and North Terminals, and most call at both T5 and the Central Bus Station (for T2/3) at Heathrow.

I ended up buying the National Express ticket online. I was struggling so much with my luggage, I didn't want to have to look for a ticket counter. It did work out in the end, though I did have to practically shout at the bus driver. He was ready to drive away without me!

Well I'm pleased it all worked out well anyway. Thanks for reporting back.
