Can you please let me know what is the meaning of the letter X and the letter W stamp in your passport
The X sounds like a refusal of entry stamp...the W may be the time she is penalized before being allowed to re-enter. If she was on a student visa, it likely had something to do with violating the conditions of that. Immigrations officers are supposed to tell people why....I believe they're even supposed to give written explanations. I'd contact the UK Immigration service.
I suggest providing a little more info. UK passport?, where are the marks at? (passport info, stamps, etc)
it is a stamp given in the airport to people entering the UK and was turn away my aunt got an X and was not told what it was for she has been in the UK for five years studying and went home to Barbados because her daughter was ill in December 2007
Thank you for your help the UK office do not seem to have anyone to answer the phone thank you again. Hilda
Your Aunt needs to contact the British High Commission in Bridgetown.
They will explain the reasons why your aunt was denied entry.
